Hey, kids! Draw a monkey!

| Step 1 Lightly draw a circle. (Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be perfect) |
Step 2 You’re probably saying to yourself, “Hey, Marc, I don’t know how to draw a circle!” Don’t worry about it. Try this: draw a box and make a mark about halfway on each side. Then, makd a curved line (or arc) connecting each of those marks. Then, you should have a pretty close circle! |

| Step 3 Lightly draw a line halfway down and halfway across the circle, then make a mark a little bit above the middle. |
Step 4 Lightly draw a squashed circle from that mark you just made to the bottom of the first circle. Try to make it fill in the bottom as much as you can. |

| Step 5 Make a little bump at the top of the smaller circle (for a nose) and two rounded lines below that (for nostrils). |
Step 6 Draw two “almost” circles on either side of the nose (but not too close). |

| Step 7 Draw a circle or oval in the middle of those circles for pupils. |
Step 8 Make some curved lines to round out the top two sections of the big circle. |

| Step 9 Draw a round line close to the bottom of your inner circle to form a mouth. This gives your monkey a short chin with a long upper lip. |
Step 10 draw “almost” circles (or “C” shapes) for ears. Make them so that the tops of the ears are about at the middle of the head. |

| Step 11 Make two lines along the top of the inner circle from the sides of the nose, but don’t make them too long. We want to give the appearance that the nose and mouth area stick out from the rest of the face, but aren’t separated. |
Step 12 follow the inner circle to connect the big circle with the curved lines you drew in step 8. |

| Step 13 Draw in the outside circle. |
Step 14 Make some curved lines for eyebrows and make a couple of curved lines in the ears (to make the folds). You can do this by making kind of a rounded check mark or “V”. |

| Step 15 Color in the three outside curved pieces that you see at the top and either side (for hair). |
Step 16 You can stretch or play around with the size of parts to make different characters. To change expressions, play with the eyebrows and add a line above or below the mouth line to make the mouth opened. You don’t need to be perfect; and the more it looks imperfect, the more it has character! |
