Happy Groundhog Day, It’s 6 more weeks of winter
By Julie | February 2, 2009

When I was in grade school I actually liked Groundhog day. Our classes would always talk about whether the groundhog saw his shadow. Then we would rejoice, or be disappointed if we had 6 more weeks of winter. When I got older, and in upper grades I rarely recall Groundhog Day was even mentioned. If it was, no one seemed to care.
Then, “Groundhog Day” the movie changed all that. Now, every Groundhog day some one in my family calls every one else to wish them a Happy Groundhog day. On the phone we recite the many lines from the movie we all recall. And we all make vows to watch the movie again that day, or if we’re busy, that week. This is one of my favorite scenes…
And here’s the prediction from FoxNews today, for the remainder of this winter, 2009…
So, there you have it, there will be 6 more weeks of winter this year. As long we’ll be anticipating more winter, and probably more snow, we may as well spend a little viewing some of the scenes from Groundhog Day, or watching the entire movie.
Happy Groundhog Day…
