Happy 4th of July, Schoolhouse Rock Style

JulieHappy 4th of July! To celebrate the birthday of our country, the United States of America, here’s a history lesson, a look back on what brought us to where we are today. If you’re a child of the 70’s or 80’s you should be familiar with Schoolhouse rock, a perfect source to recount our nation’s rise to power and how we try to maintain it.

First, the arrival of the pilgrims, to the need to fight for freedom, in “No More Kings”:

The victory of the Revolutionary War led to the writing of the constitution, beginning with “The Preamble”:

The country’s population was growing larger, and needed more room. So, the Louisiana Purchase was established, giving us more “Elbow Room”:

With a constitution that developed the pursuit of happiness, our country established itself by free enterprise. “Mother Necessity” brought us many problems that were solved by inventive minds:
