Public Schools Against Christians, For Muslims
By Julie | April 28, 2008
Ah, we’ve stumbled across more, not so fun news from the public school system in the past few days: Christians Under Attack by Government School Bureaucrats. From the article:
Oak Lawn, Illinois, school kids are going to have to do without Halloween, Christmas and Easter activities thanks to the sensitive bureaucrats who fear offending Muslims. The schools’ administrators claim they’ve received a number complaints that the activities are offensive, particularly to Muslim students.
Observers say they expect that this latest announcement is going to increase the tension that has been building since school officials agreed at the start of the school year to adjust the students’ lunch menu to exclude items containing pork to accommodate the Muslim students.
How did the parents react their kids menu changing to accommodate Muslim students:
On Wednesday, September 26, police officers had to be summoned to quell a heated dispute among parents and school officials over this latest attempt by government bureaucrats to “shove political correctness down the throats of Americans,” said conservative political strategist Mike Baker. (emphasis mine)
Here administrators explain why they allowing this treatment. Is there room for Christianity? Not in this world, they say:
What’s occurring in Oak Lawn is merely the latest attack on Christianity by government bureaucrats. According to one New York School superintendent, the teachers’ unions throughout the nation see themselves as the vanguard for the New World Order.
“The NWO has no room for Christianity and the way to eliminate it is to start with children as young as five or six,” said the Bronx school administrator who requested anonymity. (Emphasis mine)
If he is going to be so insulting, and insinuate we put our kids in his, or this system’s care, he should at least lose some of his cowardice and use his name. As, Christians, isn’t it time we stood up and said, “Not my kids!” If this is the type of school our tax dollars are funding, my kids have no place in them.
But, as the article points out, Christians aren’t standing up:
“When US District Judge Myron Thompson ordered the removal of a Ten Commandments monument from the front of a courthouse, it created a huge controversy throughout the nation. Thompson ruled that Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore’s placement of the 2.6-ton granite monument in the state building violated the US Constitution’s principle of separation of religion and government.”
However, a CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll found at the time that 77 percent of Americans interviewed disapproved of the monument’s removal and supported Judge Moore and the display of the Ten Commandments.
Most clergymen said they prayed about this intrusion on religious freedom, but they took no action.
The article then summarizes the school district in California whose agenda is dedicated to teaching Islam. How are they doing this? With our tax payer money. (We mentioned this school in our Silencing the Christians post.)
As Christians we need to remember if the agenda of political correctness is to push God, and Christianity from life altogether, then it doesn’t matter how often we are called intolerant, the intolerance is being done to us. As the Bible says, with God, we can do all things. With his guidance, our side is bigger, stronger, and more able to win. As long as we pay enough attention to know what’s happening, and stand up to fight. Otherwise, I fear the terrible events our kids will see in their lifetime.

The comic I have attached to this post: http://thebaldmonkey.wordpress.com/2008/04/17/bibles-in-schools-in-the-news-again/
is totally applicable here.
We recently found out that in the school district we are in currently, the high school has a school approved “Gay Club.” It’s just one more reason amongst a host of others that we are determined to be moved by the time out kids start school.
If only I had the income to send the kids to the private Christian School near by.

Somehow I missed reading that comic when I read your article earlier. It’s sadly funny, and true.
You sound very dedicated to move. Good luck finding a place you like before the next term begins. I don’t blame you about the Christian school thing, I’ve heard they are very expensive.

There is an organization called the American Center for Law and Justice. ACLJ.org That fights for the freedom to be Christians. They were active in support of Judge Thompson and gives us recourse when the ACLU over steps its rights and infringes upon ours.

Wow, Bob. Thanks. I’ve never heard of them before. I hear about the ACLU all the time, but not the ACLJ. I’ll have to look into them. Thanks again.
