Movie: Ben Stein’s Expelled
By Julie | April 21, 2008
Marc and I went to this movie on Friday night. If you haven’t heard about it, or seen it, it’s a must see. It makes you laugh. Makes you think. And gives the opportunity to see Richard Dawkins looking arrogant and shaken.

Glad to hear a good review of it. I have every intention of seeing it, just got to find time to go. Two sick babies and a sick wife in the house are going to keep me cooped up for a while.

OK, if I get to see Dawkins shaken, I’ll have to see it!
Actually, my husband and daughter just saw it yesterday and I’m (sort of) patiently awaiting my turn.

It’s getting a lot of bad press. A lot of people are just ticked off at the thought (how dare they!) of questiong Darwinism. I liked hearing the interviews on both sides. At the end, the majority in the theatre started clapping, that doesn’t ussually happen.
Bald Monkey, I hope your family gets well soon. It is not fun taking care of 2 sick kids and a spouse, I know, I’ve done it often.
And Dana, Dawkins not only comes off rather unpolished, he is refered to as a “reptile” once. The entire theatre burst out laughing.
Hope you can both see it soon!

just saw Expelled; the fact that Ben Stein isn’t trying to win any popularity contests helps to validate his message… i gather that his goal is to promote free thought, especially more thinking about the worldviews that drive American academia

I trully think he is sincere. Why would anyone bring the critisim on themselves he’s gotten if he were only medicore on his point?
